Bioswale Classroom

A community open space for all at the heart of the Enterprise Research Campus

Allstonway is the centerpiece of a larger greenway that connects the Allston community from the Honan Library to the Charles River. This vibrant space welcomes and engages visitors of all ages and abilities with year-round programming, including outdoor markets, concerts, and outdoor fitness classes. The addition of 300 new trees creates a connective canopy that provides both shade and shelter, while plantings of native species enhance the local ecosystem. The bioswale classroom fosters exploration and biodiversity in an exuberant urban habitat, and designated areas for capturing stormwater runoff underscore a commitment to resiliency and sustainability. Visitors can enjoy an interactive water feature and a multi-modal bike and pedestrian pathway that links Allstonway with the greater Allston community.

Discover Our Artists:

Grace Sinclair is an artist working at the intersection of art and environmentalism. She is interested in creating immersive artwork that speaks to the powerful emotional and physiological reaction that we as humans have to nature and living organisms; a space in which nature blends with ourselves. Grace currently lives in Allston and is receiving her BFA in Film/Video and Photographic Arts from Massachusetts College of Art and Design.

The Garden Floor is a series that delves into the mystical realm of a garden’s floor, where foraged plant matter blooms and decays, forming a reposing bouquet. Senescence, the progress of aging, is a prominent theme in this collection. Through these works, I hope that viewers will contemplate the beauty of the everyday cycles of growth and decay of the plants around us.”

When Jeff isn’t out riding his bike or stopping by his favorite creative businesses & community events, you can find him working on his studies at the Science and Engineering Complex or in his office at Harvard Business School in Allston.

90percent.art explores the creative possibilities of technical tools including computers, code, algorithms, and CNC pen plotters. Thematically, our work focuses on procedural color and motion, as well as our relation to the natural world.”
